The 24th Biennial Conference of the ITS, Seoul, Korea
In Seoul, South Korea
This year, the biennial ITS conference was hosted by the Research Institute for Information & Culture at Korea University, the Korea Media Management Association, SSRC, CIS, and the Graduate School of Bio Innovation Management at KAIST. As both a host and a presenter, this year’s ITS conference provided all of us with a valuable experience. Our SUITE Lab had the opportunity to present six different research papers.

Glimpse in ITS Seoul 2024
This year's ITS conference is characterized not only by scholarly discussions but also by joy and enthusiasm.
At the Welcoming Reception, various performances by Korea University students were presented to the visiting scholars at CCL.
The special prizes given after the conference day were always exciting. Tumblers, neck pillows, and carriers from Kakao and Line Friends were all adorable
At the dinner following the conference, we enjoyed Korea's traditional performance, Samullori Instrumental Music, presented by Korea University's Nong-ak band.
Have you seen the self-photo booth at the conference? ITS Seoul has set up this booth, which is quite popular in South Korea, to capture memories in four photo strips.
Special Session in NAVER 1784
The special session was held at Naver 1784. Naver, a prominent South Korean technology company known for its search engine and web portal, provided an amazing venue for the conference and presentations.
Fascinating sessions from Naver, including discussions on AI sovereignty, the metaverse, and their ecosystem guided by Naver Labs, greatly inspire us with insights into the current industry landscape.
The session room with a great view of Pangyo Techno Valley provided us with a place for a short rest during the conference.
During the plenary session on AI literacy, collaborative strategies were discussed. Thanks to the moderator and panelists for sharing their insights on how to keep pace with technological advances.
NAVER TOUR!! We toured the latest Naver 1784 with explanations from a guide on robots and Naver Labs.
Sogon Sogon (소곤소곤)
After Saehe, Minhyeok, and Sewon joined our lab, this was our first team collaboration.
Thank you all for your kindness and efforts at this conference. (We make such a great team!)

Summary
In the South Korean case, IPTV operators appear to be maintaining a stable position, but their growth is slowing down due to the emergence of OTT platforms and changes in media consumption behavior. In this context, this study analyzes the kids content strategies of IPTV operators in Korea through comprehensive case analysis and provides implications on whether kids' content can be a differentiator for IPTV operators in competition with global OTTs

(1st Author)
Hello, I'm Chaeyun, a PhD candidate and the first author of this paper. It's been a four-year journey since I began this research as a term paper in Prof. Kim's Emerging Media class, and I'm delighted to now publish it as a thesis. This research has developed significant since its first draft. We conducted additional content analysis and expert interviews, refining the paper further through feedback received during conference presentations. This paper holds significant meaning for me as it marks my first publication in an SSCI international journal. It was more challenging being my first, but with the guidance of my supervisors and colleagues, I was able to bring this paper to fruition. I hope our research can contribute to providing insights into solutions for the industry and society.
