[CIS, SSRC] Behind the Scenes #3: Finding My Role in the Music Industry

On May 18, 2026, CIS and SSRC hosted the third session of the “Behind the Scenes” series, titled “Finding My Role in the Music Industry.” The session was held at the International Remote Conference Room in Korea University’s Centennial Memorial Hall.

Il-taek Hong, Editor at Spotify, was invited as the guest speaker. Based on his professional experience in the global music platform industry, he shared insights into the diverse roles, career paths, and practical skills needed in the music business.

The session offered students an opportunity to better understand how the music industry operates beyond artists and performances. It also introduced the various ways media, content, data, curation, and platform strategy intersect within today’s music ecosystem.

As the last session of the “Behind the Scenes” series, this session helped participants explore potential career opportunities in the music industry and gain a broader understanding of the professional work that supports global music platforms.
