Through examples drawn from industry practice, he described recent developments in data-driven advertising, brand–celebrity matching, and AI-generated content, giving students a closer look at a rapidly evolving media landscape.

Stephen Schmidt of TELUS Communications then offered a perspective from inside a global telecom and technology company. Reflecting on his own career, he spoke about navigating strategy, regulation, and innovation, while underscoring the importance of knowing one’s strengths and choosing environments that allow entrepreneurial thinking to flourish.
