On August 20, 2025, the College of Media and Communication at Korea University, in collaboration with BEAUS Company, hosted an Industry–Academia Collaboration Symposium under the theme “Creator Ecosystem: Structuring Data, Advancing Content.” Held at the Centennial Memorial Samsung Hall, the event created a platform for connecting academic research with real-world challenges in the creator economy.

Session 1 began with an opening speech by Prof. Seongcheol Kim, who emphasized the importance of bridging scholarly insights with industry needs in the rapidly evolving media environment. Following his remarks, our lab members—Sewon Eom, Jaeyoung Park, and Eugene Choi—each presented their work. While addressing the symposium theme from different angles, they collectively offered valuable perspectives on how creator-focused research can contribute to practical strategies for industry. Their presentations reflected not only individual academic interests but also the shared ambition of producing insights that can support a healthier creator ecosystem.
Session 2 was led by BEAUS Company, where senior managers introduced strategies on content branding, data-driven growth, and the globalization of K-beauty creators. A highlight of this session was the presentation by Minju Jeong, an alumna of our lab and now a team lead at BEAUS Company, who showcased an applied case study that demonstrated how academic expertise can thrive in industry practice.

This symposium reaffirmed the value of continuous collaboration between academia and industry, highlighting how our lab remains committed to fostering innovation and social relevance at the intersection of theory and practice.
