[SSRC] Showcasing Innovation: Final Presentation of the 2024 SSRC Student Creative Ideathon



On November 29, 2024, the 2024 SSRC Student Creative Ideathon Final Presentation and Year-End Event was held at Korea University’s Media Hall Room 602, marking the last event of the year for the Smart Media Service Research Center (SSRC).


The event began with a commencement speech by Professor Seongcheol Kim, who emphasized the significance of fostering creativity and innovation in media research. He congratulated the participating teams for their dedication.


The highlight of the event was the final presentations by four teams, showcasing their innovative research projects developed over the year:

  1. Exploring New Standards for OTT User Segmentation: Connections Between Users’ Daily Activities Captured in Data and OTT Service Usage

    Presented by 박재영, 서성우, 이철민, 배진수, 심세진

  2. Content Distribution and Storage Technology in Large-Scale Residential Areas Utilizing IPTV Network Traffic Reduction Technology

    Presented by 김희수, 오승현, 송영진, 신세희, 박진영

  3. Development of Content Detection Algorithms for Zero-Shot-Based Shopping Platforms

    Presented by 전재현, 박지명, 이주연, 최재서

  4. Developing a Text Detection System to Prevent Community Privacy Violations

    Presented by 홍세인, 김재훈, 김하연, 차민성, 추창욱


Following the presentations, the awards ceremony recognized the outstanding contributions of the participating teams:

  • Grand Prize: Team 4 – Developing a Text Detection System to Prevent Community Privacy Violations

  • Excellence Award: Team 1 – Exploring New Standards for OTT User Segmentation

  • Outstanding Award: Team 2 – Content Distribution and Storage Technology in Large-Scale Residential Areas

  • Outstanding Award: Team 3 – Development of Content Detection Algorithms for Zero-Shot-Based Shopping Platforms

The event also featured a prize ceremony, celebrating the efforts and accomplishments of the teams, and a year-end raffle, adding a festive touch to the occasion. Attendees were provided with a light lunch during the session, fostering a warm and collaborative atmosphere.


This final event of 2024 not only celebrated the hard work of students but also highlighted the importance of creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing challenges in media and technology.
