The third SUITE Forum was held on June 12, 2026, at the CJ Creator Library in Korea University’s Central Plaza. Moderated by Professor Kim Seongcheol, the forum explored how video content is discovered, distributed, localized, and monetized in today’s platform-based media environment.

Titled “What YouTube’s Algorithm Wants: Metadata, FAST Channels, and the Asian Content Opportunity,” the forum focused on three closely connected themes: YouTube discoverability, the rise of FAST channels, and the global potential of Asian content.

One of the main topics was metadata, or the information used to describe and organize digital content. On platforms such as YouTube, metadata helps the system understand what a video is about and which viewers may be interested in it.
The forum also addressed FAST channels (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television). For content owners, FAST channels create opportunities to reuse and reorganize existing video libraries. A company with a large collection of dramas, entertainment shows, documentaries, music performances, or lifestyle videos can package them into specialized channels.
The third theme was the growing international opportunity for Asian content. Korean dramas, films, music, animation, beauty content, and creator-led videos have already shown strong global appeal. However, content must be adapted for different cultural contexts, accurately described, and distributed through the right platforms.
The forum’s main message was in today’s media environment, content must not only be entertaining, but also be easy for platforms to understand, easy for audiences to discover, and adaptable across languages, cultures, and distribution channels.

Speaker, Andrew Kan brought extensive experience in YouTube strategy, video production, and audience growth. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of Kan Do Creators LLC. He previously worked as a Multiplatform Video Specialist at The Walt Disney Company, and also served as Director of Video Production at TubeBuddy.
Speaker Sophia Lee, contributed expertise in localization, cultural adaptation, and content technology. She is the founder and CEO of Earl Grid Inc., and before that, founded and led Culture Flipper Inc. Lee also worked as a Korean localization consultant for major technology companies, including LinkedIn, Cisco, and Zynga.

Overall, the forum offered students a valuable opportunity to hear directly from experienced industry professionals, gain practical insights into the rapidly changing global media landscape, and connect academic knowledge with real-world content and platform strategies!
